Alleged Canada Day bomb suspects back in court today

The couple accused of plotting to set off pressure cooker bombs at the B.C. Legislature in Victoria on Canada Day made a brief court appearance today in Vancouver.

Amanda Marie Korody, who is either 28 or 29, and her partner John Stewart Nuttall, 38, are charged with knowingly facilitating a terrorist activity, making or possessing an explosive device, conspiracy to place an explosive device with the intent to cause death or injury and conspiracy to murder persons unknown.

Last month the couple's lawyer, Tom Morino, told the B.C. Supreme Court he can't act for both accused and needed time to find another lawyer for Korody.

Korody's new lawyer, Mark Jett?, was introduced today in court.

Meanwhile, Morino said he is unsure whether Nuttall, who is currently at the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital on Colony Farm, will seek bail.

The couple is expected to appear in court again on Sept. 20, but Morino says the trial may be as far off as 2015.
