My family and I have been to Walt Disney World many, many, MANY times, but it wasn?t until we stayed at Disney?s Ft. Wilderness Campground that we discovered we can actually go to Disney and not visit the theme parks. It?s another world there, and we fell in love with the campground the first time we stayed there last year during the 4th of July holiday. We then decided that it would become a family tradition to stay at the Ft. Wilderness Campground every July 4th to celebrate America?s birthday. ?As soon as we arrive at our cabin we decorate it with some July 4th decor to make it feel like home. ?The cabins are really nice and cozy and are surrounded by beautiful trees. ?They provide a full kitchen, a living area with a Murphy bed, a separate bedroom with a full size bed and a set of bunk beds, and a full bathroom. ?There is a picnic table outside on the porch and a charcoal grill. ?You have everything you need to feel like you are home away from home, but in the wilderness! ?You can even park your car right outside your cabin. ?Now, one of our favorite things about this resort, is the golf cart. ?Yes, the golf cart! ?As soon as we book our stay at the campground, we also rent a golf cart, which I highly recommend. ?The campground is very big, so it is very convenient to get around in a golf cart, and it?s also fun! ?You can call 407-824-2900 to rent one. ?Or you can use the internal bus service to get around. ?Either way, this Disney resort has got your transportation covered. ?Wondering where to watch the July 4th fireworks without having to head to the parks? ?The spectacular beach at the campground is where you?ll want to be. ? You can set up your blankets and chairs and make a picnic out of it. ?It?s a great spot to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks. ?They even pipe the music in from the Magic Kingdom, which makes the whole experience even more magical! ?Ready for some splish splashin? fun? ?Head on over to Meadow Swimmin? Pool. ?It has a fun water slide and a kiddie pool and splash area that your kids are sure to enjoy. ?If you prefer a more quiet setting, and if you?re good at being quiet, you can also cool off at one of the quiet pools that are located near the cabins. ?Some?of our other favorite recreational activities at this resort is canoeing, fishing, and the archery experience. ? My family always enjoys taking a break from the pool to go canoeing and fishing. ?It makes for special family bonding time and it?s fun to do. ?And the archery experience is an experience you?ll never forget! ?You can get more information on all of the recreational activities offered at this resort by calling 407-939-7529 or visit Bike Barn Recreational Rentals located near the Meadow Swimmin? Pool. ?And if you?re ready to fill your tummy, there are many dining options at this resort from casual dining at Trail?s End Restaurant to dinner shows like Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue and Mickey?s Backyard BBQ?. ?Feel like dancin?, enjoying something sweet and catching a Disney movie under the stars? ?Check out Chip ?N Dale?s Campfire Sing-a-long! ?Get your hokey pokey, chicken dance dancing shoes ready, because you?ll be dancing, singing, making s?mores, and hanging with Chip ?n Dale! ?And then cozy up in your blanket and save some popcorn for movie time under the stars. ?The fun never ends at the campground! ?My family and I also like to wind down by taking a ride in our golf cart and riding through the RV loops to see all of the July 4th decor. ?You will be amazed at all the July 4th decorations that surround the campsites! ?It?s really neat to see! ?And it?s a fun and different way to spend some family time in the wilderness!
There is so much to do at the campground that you will realize that you can experience the magic of Disney in so many different ways. ?It?s not always about spending time at the theme parks or hanging with the ghosts and ghouls at the Haunted Mansion. ?So the next time you?re thinking about experiencing Disney a little differently and maybe taking a break from the theme parks, check out Disney?s Ft. Wilderness Campground. ?The deer and armadillos are waiting for you!
