(KUTV) A West Jordan woman is accused of stealing the identity of a real nurse and then actually getting a job at clinic.
According to investigators, Kristina Marie Owen, 33, worked at two medical clinics.
"These are serious charges,? said Salt Lake County District Attorney Sim Gill. "She was holding herself out to be a professionally licensed nurse when she was not."?
Court documents say Owen worked at Abundant Life Home Health and Hospice in South Ogden, back in 2012. It?s also reported that she worked at Granger Medical Clinic in West Valley City. Court documents say Owen worked at Granger from April 22, 2013 until May 15, 2103 and made nearly $1,200.
She's also accused of stealing medication at the clinic.
Neither facility would talk to 2News about their hiring practices or how she slipped through because of the pending investigation.
2News Dan Rascon also went to Owen's home in West Jordan and no one answered the door. She also has not returned a phone call.
"I don't know why she did it,? said Gill.? ?I think it was the means to get a job.?
Gill says Owen somehow obtained a real nurses license with the same first and middle name. "That license belonged to another person who was properly licensed and that license holder knew nothing about it and did not know that her license was being used by this person,? said Gill.
Owen was finally caught after the Division of Occupational and Professional licensing started investigating.

?Lucky?she was more involved in the dispensing of medicine, but at least we don't have any evidence of critical care with hands on with patients,? said Gill.
But still, Owen did actually work in the medical field for some time. Court documents say she admitted to investigators she worked for "several years" as a nurse.
"That certainly gives us concern,? said Gill.? ?The good thing is she was identified and now she is being criminally held responsible so I think the system may have been a little delayed but it did catch the person."?
Owen has also been charged with another crime. She's accused of stealing her father-in-laws truck and title and forging his signature to get a loan.
???????????????
If found guilty of the felony counts she faces up to five years in prison.
